Recently, Beijing Tianhai Hydrogen Energy Equipment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Tianhai Hydrogen Energy), a subsidiary of Tianhai Industry, received a thank-you letter from the Opening and Closing Ceremonies Department of Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee and the National Stadium Operation Team. They expressed their heartfelt thanks to Tianhai Hydrogen Energy for its great contribution to the “simplicity, safety and splendor” of the two Olympic Games and the four ceremonies, for overcoming difficulties and making every effort during the preparation and hosting of the two Olympic Games, and for completing the final assembly of the fuel skid-mounted system of the main torch project and providing high-pressure hydrogen storage systems to 140 hydrogen buses in the Winter Olympics.

The Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympic Winter Games provided a stage for demonstration and application of domestic hydrogen energy technology and hydrogen fuel vehicles. Tianhai Hydrogen Energy seized the opportunity, went all out to overcome difficulties, completed the innovative research and development of high-pressure hydrogen storage system and hydrogen supply system of main torch in Winter Olympics with strict standards and high quality, set up an on-site service support team for the Olympic Games, provided logistical support for the main venue and sub-venues and submitted an excellent answer to the “Green Olympics”. Facing the task of serving the Winter Olympics, Tianhai Industry made solid technological innovation on the basis of the first generation product technology, developed the second generation product in half a year, and applied it to 140 hydrogen energy buses in the Winter Olympics, realizing technological independence, maturity and reliability and greatly reducing the cost.

From May to December, 2021, after numerous drawings modification, design and development, and experimental tests, Tianhai Hydrogen Energy R&D team adopted the modular design concept, and 12 sets of hydrogen supply systems for the Olympic torch with unique structure and stable function, which were composed of hydrogen storage module, hydrogenation module, multi-stage decompression module and monitoring module, were born and delivered to protect the immortal Olympic flame.
