B&WBC signed the first overseas CDQ project
Publish Time:2022/5/24 14:19:18

Recently, B&WBC signed Hyundai Steel CDQ project with BHI Company of Korea. The project is consisted of three CDQ boilers, with evaporation capacity of two 114t/h and one 131t/h respectively. The scope of supply includes: detailed design, raw materials procurement, packaging and transportation to Korean ports. 2# boiler is scheduled to be delivered in early 2023, and 3# boiler and 1# boiler will be delivered to Korean ports in the second half of 2023 and the second half of 2024 respectively.

The owner of the project is Hyundai Steel Company of Korea, and BHI Company of Korea participates in the project as the general contractor of equipment. Korean BHI Company was established in 1998, and is a global supplier of power plant equipment. Its products cover power plants, steel structures, civil engineering, oil and gas refining and other fields. The first contact between B&WBC and the Korean team can be traced back to the Mexico Gas Project bid in 2018. In order to win the project, BHI decided to give up the local design and manufacturing with high cost, and look for a cooperative manufacturer with high international brand reputation and manufacturing capability in China. After layers of screening and the positive response of the company, B&WBC was finally selected as the cooperating manufacturer of the project in China. In the equipment bidding stage, B&WBC and BHI cooperated closely to help BHI win the equipment general contract of Hyundai CDQ project.

Affected by the COVID-19 epidemic, in the equipment negotiation stage between B&WBC and BHI Company, the two parties could not communicate face to face, but only communicate through telephone conference and video conference, which greatly increased the difficulty of negotiation and lengthened the negotiation cycle. During the negotiation process, all departments of B&WBC worked closely together to actively seek the best scheme, and successively solved a series of problems, such as the adoption of national standard materials for non-pressure parts, modular delivery of graded economizer, anti-wear coating, and the third perspective of drawings. After nearly four months of early cooperation and contract negotiation, it finally signed a contract with BHI recently.

As the first overseas CDQ project, it marks the successful entry of B&WBC Manufacturing into the Korean market. At the same time, this project has the characteristics of long cycle, high manufacturing standards and high pressure on early design, which also puts forward greater challenges and higher requirements for B&WBC, and further urges B&WBC to move towards higher quality development.
